Why Alpha?
Over the summer, Cornerstone Church in Bray (A98 VE43) hosted an Alpha Course in Ukrainian in conjunction with some of our Ukrainian friends in the Royal Hotel opposite. They found that this helped them and their compatriots to process some of what they are going through. As there was a great response to our first Alpha, our second Alpha Course starts with an Introductory Evening on Thursday 28 September. Alpha evenings are held each Thursday evening from 7.00pm to 9.00pm, from 28 September.
Each evening begins with tea, coffee and dessert. Then we watch a short video in Ukrainian (about 25 minutes). After that there is an opportunity to discuss the video content in groups. A children's play area is also available. There is no cost to attend Alpha.
Our Ukrainian friends have described the evenings as follows: 'We talk about why we live, whether God exists and where He is, why there is suffering in the world, who Jesus is, and whether He can be my true friend - a total of about twelve important and interesting topics. We look forward to seeing you!'
You can come on any Thursday, but Alpha is most helpful if you start with the Introductory Evening on Thursday 28 September.
Bray is easily accessible by train [DART commuter train or inter-city diesel train], and by bus [numbers 45A, 84, 145, 155, 184, 185, and Finnegans 143]
